Hey everyone!

 

Another amazing week her is Spotan! So this week I had to give a talk in church. I was scared but It was amazing how calm I gto as soon as I walked into the chapel. Theres something amazing about being a missioanry and having to talk whether it be in church or to a random person on the street cause literally all we have to do it have the courage to open our mouths and the spirit does the rest. Its hard to describe but its the most amazing thing. I didn't follow basically anything on the paper I had written down and I don't really remember much of what I said but My companion said thats when you know you're speaking by the spirit. She said it was really good and when she looked out into the congregation, it was silent and still (which never really happens cause we have a really loud and crazy crowd haha) but that made me feel super good. Miracles. Many miracles. FIRST: We found out my companions bike that breaks all the time is magic. We literally have to stop and put the chain back on every 5-10 blocks but its magic because every single time we do we end up talking to someone, or stopping right in front of a house we need to knock! ITS CRAZY! We knocked a house that it broke at and the people said they would love to come on a church tour(no one wants to go on a church tour). yesterday it broke and a less active pulled up that we have been trying to contact for 5 months and helped us with it (as I pretended to not know what i was doing..Im pro tho) and we got his info and set up a time to meet with him! Theres been SO many times this miracle bike has broken in perfect times! Its almost like the spirit is trying to tell us to stop and when we dont listen HE BREAKS THE BIKE! hahah its wonderful.

    SECOND miracle: we were riding our bikes to a dinner appoiontment and i got the WORST bloody nose! I was riding with my head tilted back and looked like a goon so we stopped right in front of a part member families house(gold) and two guys came out to talk to us. I turned around so they cant see my face cause blood is literally gushing out of my face haha and im laughing like "ya sorry, I wish I could talk haha but sister hood you take this one" I appologized and the boys felt awakward like "do you need anything" Im like "Noo no worries"(as im kneeling on the floor wiping tissue after tissue but it literally wont stop) Finally we go around the corner and I lay on my back in the middle of the road to try and get it to stop. Sister Hood is peeing her pants cause i look like I was just in a massacre. blood all over my face and hands hahah but she says ok get up! we're saying a prayer! after 15 min of this non stop bloody nose I was willing to try anything hahah So we pray and I'm laughing like crazy and as soon as she says amen I take the tissue out and IT STOPED. seriously it did. It was NUTS! but It was a miracle we stopped at the house we did cause those two boys were the same ones our ysa elders were trying to get ahold of and we got all there info!!!(well sister hood did as I was on the floor cleaning myself up) But miracle non the less!

     Third: random phone number calls us and we say "hello this is the missionaries" she says she had the wrong number and we kept talking to her and she ended up asking us to send someone to give her a priesthood blessing cause she's at the hospital and she just had a baby and needs a blessing! She's not a member but she's been to our church a couple times. MIRACLE there is no such thing as coincidence! every single person we come in contact to is for a reason. I love being a missionary.

 

ps: Mom and Dad you have no idea how much that missionary story meant to me! Theres so many wonderful missionaries out there that just need an extra boost of help. Thank you so much for following the spirit and being an answer to his prayers! Nicole Katie and josh will always remember that! I DIED LAUGHING when I heard that story about you driving colie and Katie and josh to the homeless corner and saying "stare into their faces" hahahah I WAS DYING!! that's so your way of teaching dad.

WHat up everyone!! its sista scott! Ok so this week just as the rest have been amazing. I bet your all waiting for me to write one week and say..geez this has been a horrible week. BUT NO. litereally everyday theres more miracles than I can count on both hands. One gift I've been praying for is to recognise God's hand and his tender mercies everyday. BEST thing I could've asked and heavenly father truely does answer prayers. For instance. Tim our investigator I told you about last time (trying to quit his smoking addiction) but one day me and sister hood were praying about what to teach him that day and she stopped mid prayer. I felt something tell me "you need to drop tim" I of course ignored the prompting and thought It was crazy because the second we do he would relapse and we would have to cancel his baptismal date. She said amen and she looked at me in tears and said "We need to drop Tim." I told her I know and it would be hard but Heavenly father knows what his children need a lot better than we do so that night we "broke up with him" as we call it haha. He started to cry too but we felt it was time for him to start relying directly on Heavenly father instead of us pushing him to do all the things he needs to so he can prepare for baptism. We stopped all contact with him and prayed a ton that he would be able to stay off cigarrets. This last week we were riding bikes and sister hood stopped (like she always does when she gets a prompting) she asks me where we needed to go and I said lets go right. All the sudden Tim turns out of the gas station and we pull over and talk to him. we say "TIM!! how are you??" he says "Im feeling pretty good I've been reading and praying everyday and feel my relationship with HF has really grown!" (miracle) "Thats good! how has smoking been?" "I havent smoked since we last started meeting but it's been getting pretty hard and i've been asking him to help me stop" Sister hood looks at him and says "tim you just bought a pack didn't you" He says "yeah but i've been doing good for a week now and I think I diserve just one!" Sister hood reaches out her hand and says GIVE ME THE CIGARRETS TIM. even I was scared of her at this point hahah but he laughs and very hesitantly hands them over. We prayed with him right there in the middle of the street and he repented and asked for help and he immidiately felt the urge go away. It was amazing! Heavenly Father works in SUUCH miraculous ways but we've been praying about when we need to "get back together" with tim and just as it did before, last night me and sister hood felt it was time. We prayed about a baptismal date and I randomly blurted out july27 and when we told him he said really? thats my birthday! hahahahaha God is good. We were walking arounf on the fourth trying to find people to talk to and we met thee coolest lady!!! she walked us around her garden which was literally around her entire house and beyond! It took about and hour to see everything and we got to eat from her Cherry tree, apple tree, rasberry bushes, Dill weed (ha ..ha ha dilly..) and her, peach tree, and mulberry tree, peas, carrots, cellery, and strawberried! hahah she says she basically live and only eats in her garden! theres a lot of crazy gardeners here but that was by far the coolest one! We also were directed to a random persons house that was super nice and we taught him the whole Book of mormon, the restoration, AND the first vision from Joseph smith. he started to cry and I (for the first time) asked him "will you follow the example of jesus christ and be baptised?" and he said YES!!!! woh..craziest and best feeling in the whole world. The elect are truely out there and they know without a doubt its true once they just start talking with us. They feel it and they don't know what it is but they know its not from this world almost like they heard it before BECAUSE THEY HAVE! before this world of course.. but I'm coming to know how REAL this missioanry mantel is. We can literally preform miracles (under the direction of the holy sprit) but there has been so many times that I've been told to promise people BOLD blessings. Blessings that would seem impossible but its not me making it. I'm learning that I really am a deciple of Jesus Christ and I'm on HIS errand. Its not me teaching lessons or promising these blessing or asking inspired questions. Everthing we do (get up early read pray eat study and pray some more) is so the Holy ghost can dwell in us and we can be an instrument and messenger of what Heavenly Father wants his children to hear. Its a crazy concept but watching myself say things I KNOW im not smart enough to explain or watching miracles come from blessings I was told to promise them actually come true, theres no other way this could all be possible. This is God's work. I've seen too many miracles and things happen to think otherwise. I love this Gospel!!! I will forever be a missionary! Love you all and I'm praying for you all daily!! see ya'll soon! until next week!!:) ps: me and josh were on at the same time yesterday and were talking from Pokane to Costa Rica!! Answer to prayers! craaazy! haha and as if that wasn't cool enough we found out our Credit cards expire on the same day meaning we should get home the same week if not the same day!! hahaha crazy but we'll see how it all works out!
