Brekken!!

Hello everyone!

This has been probably one of the longest greatest weeks EVER. We went to spokane twice and got to hear from Elder Audukitas! He is the boldest, bluntest, most inspiring person I have ever heard speak. Hahaha we got quite the chastisement, but it was all out of love so the spirit filtered it into motivation! He really was so incredibly powerful! Because of him i have set goals for my mission and what I truly feel the Lord wants me to do these last 6 1/2 months. I cant even type that without cringing...anyway. The Lord has been teaching me a lot about faith and the power it has to produce miracles!

So we were given the opportunity to volunteer at the world series baseball thing here for LCSC. There is a billion baseball teams here and its been amazing to walk around and represent the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!! (Dad I promise I combed my hair) I havent been to an event like that in so long, It felt so weird. SO many people, and SO little time to tell them about the gospel, I WAS GOIN NUTS! Our 1 shift of service we worked in the consessions stand and we had to be there at 11. Of course I just so happened to lock out keys in the apartment at 10:50 along with our car key so we had NO way to get to service. We prayed and asked the Lord to open the door if it was His will and MIRACULOUSLY...........it didnt open. So we walked. BUT we talked to this guys on the way who lives with a member and had a bunch of questions so that was awesome.

We finally made it to our shift 25 min late and went strait to the main consessions and started to work. There was a girl named brekken who was working with us and the whole time I was praying for a way to share the gospel with her. She ended up asking us a question about our name tags. She said she had some sister missionaries come to her door once (the ysa sisters that we live with) and she had been thinking about them ever since they left and she lost there card and couldn't get ahold of them! I think we spend a solid hour and a half talking through our shift about her life and what she is looking for right now. ITS THE GOSPEL! In her own words she said, "I have spent my whole life looking for fulfillment, I know its not at the bottom of the bottle, it's not with they guys and parties, It's not in my work, it's not in my school...It's like I keep searching everywhere and never fully feel complete." I told her, "It's because what your seeking for, the world cannot offer you. The Savior and His gospel is the only way to feel lasting joy and happiness." The spirit was so strong and she just started to glow, "How can I get started? I want to learn more." It was like a dream! Everything she kept saying I was blown away at how much the Lord had been preparing her. She told us, "I wasn't even going to come in today but something told me I needed to, then I got a call from the manager asking me to cover for someone so I raced right in!"

As if that wasn't a great enough miracle, Later that day when we got back into our home and car we listened to a voice mail from the manager and she said "Hey sisters, you haven't shown up for your shift and we are going to go ahead and call back up, If you plan to come later let us know." THE BACK UP WAS BREKKEN! If we would not have locked our keys in the house and been late, Brekken would not have came in and we would not have worked together! The Lord works in mysterious ways. Brekken is now meeting with the YSA sisters and is on date to be baptized!:)

Update on our some investigators:
-Kayla and Nick and planning to be married this Friday and kayla will be baptized on Saturday!! so excited for them! I hope all goes well. Satan has been attacking that family like crazy and things have been going wrong left and right. So if you could keep them and their son jayden in our prayers that would be awesome:)
-Jack just got our of surgery and is doing awesome and his wife Jessica is now in date to be baptized for the 21st of june! When we prayed about a date, that one stuck out and when we told her she said, "That's my husbands birthday! so now I know that date was inspired!" IT WAS CRAZY! hahah
-Rodney has officially quit chewing tobacco- thanks to mine and sister woodfields sugar fast! Me her and Rodney are going on day 8 sober;)

Something I've really been thinking about is the power our agency give us. Heavenly Father loves us so much that he will grant unto us our desires whether they be good or evil. He give Joy and eternal life as His option but hHe will never force it upon His children! As a Father, that takes and incredible amount of love and I catch a glimps of how much more and more each day.

ALMA 29:4

1 O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!
2 Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth.

3 But behold, I am a man, and do sin in my wish; for I ought to be content with the things which the Lord hath allotted unto me.

4 I ought not to harrow up in my desires the firm decree of a just God, for I know that he granteth unto men according to their desire, whether it be unto death or unto life; yea, I know that he allotteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable, according to their wills, whether they be unto salvation or unto destruction.

We are here to LEARN how to use ageny righteously and to do so will bring us closer and closer to becoming all He has created us to become. The choice is ours! have an awesome week I love you all!!:)

Transfer Calls!!

Hello everyone!!

Another week In paradise, Its been so crazy busy and next week should be even worse! I LOVE IT. Elder Audikitus is coming to speak to the missionaries tuesday for the leaders and wednesday for all the missionarues so we have to drive 2 hours to spokane to do that then back, then wake up the next morning up and drive 3 hours to hayden lake then back. Lets just say there will be lots of lessons over the phone those days. haha Its gonna be crazy!!

Transfer calls brought no change which im STOKED about because I absolutely LOVE my companion and we work so well together. We are both sister training leaders so we get to work real closely with the sisters and for trainings and things. Our teaching pool has trippled this transfer so I could not be more happy that im staying to work with all of them!!

I dont have much time to write but I have had amazing experiences with all the people we have been meeting. A member in our war dcame up to us and asked if we could go and visit ehr grand daughter. She was excommunicated when she was in her 20's and she said she has been on her mind all week. She was in the elders area but she begged us to go saying, "If she's open at all I know it will only be through sisters." so we tried her and when we first saw her she was very hesitant and cold. We told her we were sister missionaries from the church and you could literally see a light come from her. She didnt even know the church had sister missionaries and she invited us right in. Within 2 min of talking she was sobbing. She asked usto come back and share a message with her and her 14 yr old daughter. Her daughter Chloe is the most elect person i have ever had in my whole life. She has NO religious backround and she is so open and close tot he spirit. We taught the plan of salvation and I asked her why she thought Heavenly Father would send Jesus Christ to the earth. Her answer was "I feel like, we wouldnt be able to make it back home by ourselves, and Jesus Christ was sent to kind of light the way back. He helps us succeed." I about passed my tag over to her. She's incredible. We tookthe both on a church tour last week and Chloe wants to be baptized as soon as possible and her mom just started the process to be re baptized!!

There are so many other miracle stories of the Lord preparing His children that i wish i had time to share! Each one confirms that THIS IS HIS WORK. There is no greater Joy than to be apart of it. I want to encourage all of you to get on your knees and ask your Heavenly Father what your role is. We all have one and we all can contribute differently, but i promise once you start you will not be able to start! Someone who is truly converted cannot remail idle! Get out there and do the work you have been sent to do! I know its true with my whole heart. The peace that comes from this gospel is incredible. I refuse to ever quit living it. and spreading it!

“Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”9

“shake off the chains with which [we] are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust.”11

Love you all!

BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!

Lewiston, Idaho

Hello family and friends!!

AHHH! What an amazing day yesterday. It was so good to see you all and hear your voices!! Some missionaries worry that skyping will distract them from the work and make them focus on home for the next little while but GOD IS GOOD! I have never had a problem with things like that my whole mission. If anything it gives me that extra drive and push to try my best each and every day. I absolutely LOVED getting to hear about your missionary work. That means more to me than anything in the whole world. "The true sign on conversion is to share the gospel", I KNOW THATS TRUE! its incredible what sharing what you know to be true can do for your testimony. Conversion is a real process and a daily decision! Your understanding of the gospel and desire to learn more just burns within you and you soon enough you can HELP but share it!

This week I have been studying a lot about faith and how it is SO much more than just a belief in Jesus Christ. Faith is a principle of ACTION! and as we act in faith then the Lord is ABLE to work miracles according to your faith in Him. Me and my companion gave a training on planning with faith and binding the Lord to the goals that you set!  We taught them " In order for the Lord to work through you, you must have limitless faith. Break the bands you have set for yourself and with faith let the lord do His work!" WE HAVE SEEN MIRACLES!

To further explain.. President Mullen gave a training to our whole Zone. We met at the Moscow university church building and President told us of a little faith experiment he wanted to do with us as a Zone. He sent out 2 missionaries to contact on the street. He would give them 5 min and if they didn't bring someone back to be taught then he would send out 2 more missionaries and so forth until they had some one to teach. WE WERE TERRIFIED. First off we were on a huge hill so it would take forever to run were there were actually people outside. After 6 min the sisters brought back a young adult girl named Haley. President explained to her that two missionaries would teach her at the front of the room so we as a group could understand how to be better teachers. She was a totally sweet heart and gladly excepted! As the missionaries began to get her religious background Haley said, "It's actually funny that you ask because I haven't really grown up with a firm belief but lately I have tried praying..and I asked God to help me learn more about Him." EVERY missionaries was on the edge of their seat. They taught her the whole restoration and the Joseph Smiths first vision and she was listening so intently and answering ever question perfectly! The spirit was so incredibly strong there was not a dry eye in that whole conference. The president then told her he would ask her some questions to evaluate the missionaries teaching and Haley stopped him and asked president if the missionaries could continue teaching!! They gave her a book of Mormon and she clung onto it and said she would read it. They then asked her to be baptized and she looked up crying and said yes!! President later asked her how she knew it was true and she said, "I could feel something as the missionaries taught me and it told me that it was true, and when they asked me to be baptized I felt it the strongest." She looked out into the crowd of missionaries and smiled with tears in her eyes and said "thank you for finding me!"

IT WAS LIKE A MOVIE!!!! it was so unreal it was incredible!!! President said he has done that experiment with all the zones and they have seen miracles every single time. It was the greatest testimony builder that THIS IS THE LORDS WORK. He is the one placing them in out path from our faith combined as a zone! He wants so badly for all His children to come to the knowledge of His restored gospel and He is more than capable of providing the means if we will just have faith and be obedient to do His work!

Words could never describe how grateful I am to be a part of that work and I will FOREVER be His missionary. God is good. His church is so true. His plan is perfect. What else can I say... I am happy:) I LOVE THE GOSPEL! The One and only way to come to come to know these things for yourself is by living them. Ask the missionaries..they'll teach you how!:)

I love you all soooo much!!! thank you all for the incredible love and support:) I wouldn't be here without you! I'll see y'all soon:)

Mom I love YOU!

Happy Mothers week Mother!!!!!
I love yooooouuu!!!:)

This is going to be a very eventful week! I get to talk to my family on MOTHERS DAY which jus so happens to be my BIRTHDAY!! God is good. That is by far the greatest birthday present in the whole world!

Family: I want you to spoil the HECK out of mom, get her flowers, make her breakfast, take her to movies(no matter how badly she says she wants to go by herself..weird i know), clean the whole house, go on morning walks in the mountains, kade: wash her car? Dad get her flowers, everyone be nice to each other, Josh dont bug the girls! (there is beauty all around when there is love at home) , sweep the floor, do the dishes,  and don't you DARE let  her lift a finger!
......I got you mom;) sit back relax and enjoy the fruits of having so many dang children.

So this week was wonderful..Every week is wonderful. but THIS week was especially great. We ate at my favorite Mexican restaurant in down town Lewiston called taco cecys and as we were all leaving I felt i needed to talk to this one girl eating at the bar. I sat by her and introduced myself and found out she was a less active! she referred us to do some service for a little carnival and we brought our whole district to help. There wasn't much to do so we started to draw a GIANT diagram of the plan of salvation on the parking lot. IT WAS SO COOL! We had so many people looking at it and asking questions it was awesome!! I was talking with the radio announcer person and got them to say our churches name over the radio! "we have some wonderful missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saint down here helping out!" It was so cool to hear! Just goes to show you what can happen by just talking with one person!

That is something I've been learning a lot about, the worth of souls. So we taught Kayla (our investigator on date for the 16th) about the law of tithing this week and it was so amazing. She has been clean for a whole week and we have been seeing her everyday to help her. Her family has been through so much and we were so nervous to teach the law of tithing because they can barely keep enough to feed their family and little boy jayden. At the very beginning of the lesson kayla said "Where can i go to pay my tithing? Can i pay tomorrow?"...me and my companion just sat there for a little bit in shock haha. she says "I know i need to pay tithing and that it's real" She had an experience last christmas she had no money left to pay rent or to buy a christmas for her son. One day she was down town riding the subway back and forth and a woman came out of no where and said "The Lord told me you will need this more than me" she handed her 50$ and told her to get her son a good Christmas. When she looked up to thank the woman she was gone and there was no one left in the subway station! CRAZY!! but she said every since that day she has wanted to pay some sort of tithing so she can pay back whatever she has to the Lord!

The faith of the people I've met out here is incredible. It strengthens my faith every day and gives me a greater desire to trust in my Savior more fully. There will be so many trials and challenges in life but if there is ONE thing that can make them lighter its Trust in Jesus Christ and His gospel. My faith in my Savior has grown so much out here because I have had experiences where i have TRULY come to know Him and what He can do for me. He has proven to me over and over that His way is the happiest way. I have seen so many take the alternative route and ending up, hurt, depressed, confused, and desperately seeking a way out. I KNOW without a doubt that the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides that Clear, peaceful, fulfilling, and LASTING joy. Obedience isn't restricting. Obedience to His law is what liberating. I am living proof of that and i have never felt so free in my life. When you can see both paths IT IS THE ONLY INTELLIGENT THING TO DO! I love this Gospel. I know my Savior lives. I know My Father in Heaven loves me. There is no greater truth than the one i share right now!!

I love you all and I hope all you mothers have an incredible mothers day!!:)
Ash and Brit: Keep being the incredible mothers i know you are!!
I LOVE YOU MOOOOOOOM!!!!! thank you for all you have done, do, and will do for me! No matter where I am, I feel your love everyday!

-Love, Sister Scott
